Steps to make a meme

  1. Open tools.meaecosystem.com/meme-generator.
  2. Upload the image you want to turn into a meme.
  3. Click "+ Add Text" to add a new text box — repeat as many times as you need.
  4. Select the text box you want to edit, then set its content, font, color, size, and style (Plain, Outline, or Background).
  5. Drag the text directly on the image until it's positioned the way you want.
  6. If needed, use the "Flip Image" button to flip the image horizontally.
  7. Once everything's done, download the finished meme.

Which text style is easiest to read?

The "Outline" style (text with a contrasting edge) is the most commonly used in classic meme format because it stays readable over any image, regardless of the background color. The "Background" style (text with a solid-color box behind it) is useful when you need maximum readability over a visually busy image.
